The first visit of the season

Hey =) smiles it is... I am sitting in my room getting ready for the first visit to the red river gorge of the season. I am still in the process of getting most of the equipment we will be using to shoot the film so this time there will be not a lot of shooting. I might do some experimentation with the GoPro camera I just got. I am planning to do a lot of observation and walking around the Muir. Hopefully I get a lot of inspiration and shooting ideas. Jacob and I have been talking and getting mutually excited for the creation of the film. I hope this blog shows the whole process behind the dream, the project and the creation. Right now we have officially started with the planning and landing of ideas. Besides the blog, we are also creating a website that will include all of the New Media projects that we come up with throughout the semester. Cheeers and lots of love!!!

Where do we Begin??

Today Santi and I sat down for our first real planning meeting for this project.  It is developing nicely and we are coming up with some great new ideas.  Trying to incorporate everything that we want to show people is going to be difficult to do with just one film.

We have decided to go about creating this film with a lot more aesthetic visual concepts with an underlying story of the community of climbing so that we aren't just mashing together a bunch of cuts of different climbs into a one hour film.  We want to portray a variety of people, all with a different purpose, coming together as a community in climbing.

This is only the start of our visions, but as we continue to develop we will continue to post.  Being able to capture a passion on film and then sharing it with others is an ongoing dream of ours and we are super excited to begin working on this project
